1/20 Update: There are only 10 days left to get me your ideas! We have 12 or so so far. I have approved some of the ideas that were posted via commenting so that you can get an idea of what ideas people are coming up with. Obviously I can see the date and time those were submitted, so don’t try stealing their ideas!
1/12 Update: We have received close to 10 great ideas so far. Several were the same idea, so send as many as you can!
1/10 Update: We have had a few more submissions come in. All great ideas. At this rate, we will probably see 16 or so submissions, so if you have a great idea, you still have a good shot at winning the gift card. Even if you don’t win, your idea might be used, and at the very least, you can tell your friends: “I was the one who thought of that!!”.
1/8 Update: After 48 hours, one submission was received. The site has received nearly six thousand visits since the announcement and still only received one submission. Come on people! There isn’t a whole lot of competition!
At TheSupplementRating.com, we are always striving to make our site more useful. For the month of January, we are going to run an idea competition. If your suggestion is chosen as the best idea, you will receive a $50 gift certificate to BodyBuilding.com!
Please submit your ideas through our Feedback Form. Make sure that you include your email address (so we can contact you if you win). Also, be as thorough as possible; include as many details about your idea as possible. For example, instead of just saying “change layout”, give us some examples of exactly how we should change the layout.
You can submit as many ideas as possible. If two people have the exact same winning idea, the person who sends it in first will be selected as the winner. Feel free to make multiple submissions.
If you have any questions about the competition, please post a comment or use the Feedback Form.
The winners will be announced in the first couple days of February, and updates will be posted throughout the month.
Good Luck!

I really love your website and use it on a weekly basis. I feel as though the biggest improvement would be to have a nicer homepage. The layout is nice, but it sometimes feels like its really crowded since there are lists on the left, product categories in the middle and top brands on the right. If, for example, the product categories could have a button that links it to another page, that would be great!
Thanks again for all your efforts

Just a thought, but you could list the most recent 50 or so supplement updates rather than just the newest three. Or have that option be a separate link or something.
Also, it may be a good idea to allow people to vote down a post that is clearly an exhaggeration like someone claiming they gained 30 pounds of muscle in a week or two by using a creatine monohydrate powder or something.
Also, rating supplements by “value” may not be too accurate because, for example, Sams club sells a 5 lb bag of EAS protein for just over 20 bucks, whereas the same bag of EAS protein is around 50 at Vitamin World. Maybe a “price paid” option followed by, was it worth the price.
Maybe add a “taste” choice too. 1-10 with an N/A option for capsulated supplements. A lot of people probably base their ratings mostly on taste anyway. Hopefully this way, we can separate taste from actual results of the supplement.

It would be great if I was able to come on your site and search for ratings of supplements by age groups.
I am a 45 year old male and what works for me may not work for the 18-35 year olds. 35-50 year olds are going through the same type of body changes. I know it would benefit me more if I could only pull up reviews from people in a certain age group.

Having a system in which people can compare prices and nutritional statistics of various supplements would be extremely helpful for users of this site. It would save a lot of time and give people more options of what they can purchase.
Also, having a “Customers who liked this also liked…” little section at the bottom of each page can be helpful too. It would be pretty cool to see what other products people similar to me are buying as well.
Additionally, having a thorough explanation of what nutrient, vitamin, amino acid, or supplement does what can be helpful as well. For example, we all know that protein aides in muscle repair, but many of the other ingredients are rather mysterious, especially for people new to supplements or who are recreation supplement takers. In giving people an in-depth description of what amino acid, etc., does what, users of this site can make the best choice for themselves.

The power to review and rate the products on your page

I am actually contented with the current website. However, the things that should be improved is to have more promotions and discounts on products during festive season, or maybe bb.com annivesary. That would be nice. And i also noticed that bb.com doesnt have a manual price match system for us to do. It is quite a hassle to call them.

Great site, easy to move and navigate through but the biggest thing that I look for when searching for supplements is which website has the best deal. If you can click on a certain supplement and then have each website come up with their prices for the product with the first one being the cheapest price between websites. I love that feature and makes it easy for me to decide from who I am going to purchase that supplement. You already have retailer ratings which is great but the option to see who has the best deal out there is a wonderful thing!

Great site-I feel that a more dynamic color scheme and updated theme would immediately improve the site’s appearance-the light grey is washed out and drab.Any number of ready to go blog templates would look better than the current theme. The functionality and features are excellent.

I think it would be cool if you set it up so that people could blog or journalize about a supplement cycles. For instance when I go to look up a certain supplement I could read the peoples reviews but also see if anyone kept a day to day journal of how the supplement was working for them, and the gains that they were having over that period of time, that way we get more in depth information of how that supplement work for individual people over time rather than just what they thought about it.

I have got to say this site is pretty well thought out and very usefull. Really the only things I can think of would be to allow affiliate marketing for this site. I dont know, I would assume that there would be a drastic amount of traffic to the site if that happened. I mean lets face it. This site is very helpfull in deciding what supplement to buy. And many people out there just buy what they see. So yes, more traffic equals more business.

Also I forgot but adding more information to the product, instead of just the rating and such.
