Do carb blockers really work? I do not see a lot of feedback on these type of supplements?
Answer #1:
Flag
There is no such thing as a carb "blocker".
The supplements that are marketed as carb blockers slow the absorbtion of the carbs you ingest and thus lower your insulin SPIKE and this makes your body less prone to store the excess glucose in your system that usually comes from a large carb filled meal like pasta. Taking a carb "blocker" will slow the digestion of the pasta and will allow your body time to metabolize the carbs rather than store them as fat.
Its a unique excuse for overeating but real world feedback is still not good on these products.

Some fat burners have muscle sparing ingredients for this reason. One popular one is Recreate.

The protein, Fish Oil & glutamine you are taking can help this as well, but you prob need a bit more. Of course, it depends on just how low your calories are & how much activity you are doing.

you might slightly lose some mass but not muscle mass, if anything your muscles will look bigger and more ripped after using a fat burner. you wont really lose strength either but it might slow your gains down a little bit but nothing too major im guessing. i gave my friend some Hydroxycut and he still moves up in his lifts while he is losing weight. its worth a shot if you are trying to look more cut and you can always take less than the recommended serving if its having too much of an impact on your lifts.

Pipes is absolutely right. i was on a cut, used Recreate (for the second time), and actually kept most of my strength and mass while leaning out. And Pipes, by the way, you were right on the money about my girl loving Recreate also. Now we share.

I'm looking for a thermogenic supplement that will aid me in losing weight? I have come down to Universal Animal Cuts, USPS Labs Recreate, or Hydroxycut Hardcore X. I have use Hydroxycut Hardcore before the recall and it worked really well for me, but I am not sure is the new stuff is ass effective. I'm currently suck between and 212-215lb and 19-23% body fat(more muscle than fat) I would like to get down to 185lb and 10-14% body fat. I'm really working toward a six pack. Any suggestions?

Forget the Hydroxycut, its pretty much garbage along with all the other MuscleTech products. Recreate would probably be your best choice. The Animal Cuts is good, but I generally don't recommend it unless you are in competition prep.

Also, whats your diet like? There really is no need to use any cutting supp IMO until you are getting near 10%, because up until that point, your body isn't going to be kicking and scratching to hang on to that stubborn fat. Also, I don't mean to call you out, but if you are even 19% bodyfat and only 212 lbs, you don't have as much muscle as you think. As for the 6-pack, you are probably going to have to get down to sub 9% to see definition in your abs. Don't get me wrong, some people have higher bf than that and have a great core, but genetics is going to play a large role in it.

Give us an idea of what your daily diet and workout splits look like and we'll help you out from there.

Hey thanks for the feedback. There is no such thing as calling me out...lol...I need the advice! My diet consist of 6 meals a day. Usually egg whites in the morning w/ protein blueberry shake, fruit and protein bar for day snack; Chicken breast and veggies for lunch, almonds, walnuts, and protein drink for lunch snack, maybe a turkey sandwich for dinner, and then another protein shale for last meal.

My workout plan is p90x. I have been using Recreate, PowerFULL, and Jack3d for about 3 weeks and my weight or my body fat% has not dropped any. This has been along with my diet and p90x workout. When I was 189lbs. a couple of months ago, my body fat% was still around 17-18%?
Not sure what I am doing wrong?

Your diet looks pretty good actually. Do you know how many calories you are eating each day? I know its OCD, but these little details can make a difference. Well if your weight has gone up and your body fat has stayed the same, then you've been putting on muscle.

You may want to try increasing your cardio along with the P90x a week or two and see if that has any effect.

I have been on the CKD for almost 2 weeks an I have been on Animal Cuts for about 10 days I have cut about 9 to 10 pounds from 200 to 190 is this dropping to much weight to quick?
Answer #1:

Well, the Animal Cuts has a diuretic property to it, so it can be quite a bit of water. Keep an eye on your appearance and strength. If you seem to be getting weaker, then you may be losing muscle and shouldn't cut as many calories.

No, you're not dropping dangerously. Animal cuts is also a mild diuretic, so youre going to be losing some water weight also. That kick youre getting when you eat is most likely from the intake of calories and carbs your body is craving on such a strict diet.

Look for products with fiber and little carbs. That'll help fill you up. Protein shakes are great too.

Hey there, my favorite weight loss supplement is Recreate from USPLabs. I had great results without any side effects like jitters or anxiety, and I've just started my wife out on it. She's really enjoying it. I can't tell you any specifics on her results yet, she just started taking last week, but so far so good. A top guy on this site (22inchpipes) said his girlfriend had fantastic results and recommended it to me, for my girl. Anyway try that supplement if you'd like, but remember lots of water and a strong cardio and diet program. Hope it helps!

Now that your starting to gain muscle you will lose very little body fat. Continue gaining muscle mass as long as you can until you hit a plateau and stop making gains. At this point it would be beneficial to begin a "cut" where you try and shed your remaining excess body fat. Consume a deficit of calories where you burn more than you eat and make sure you eat a gram of protein per lb of body weight (this will help you maintain your muscle so you only lose fat). As long as you eat less calories than you burn you can expect to lose body fat. 3500 calories = 1lb of body fat so that gives you an idea of how much to cut from a weekly standpoint.
As far as supplements a good thermogenic such as Animal Cuts will work just fine. if you want to do something more extreme i would suggest doing an ECA stack. just remember, belly fat is the last to go so be patient and train hard.
