Muscle Milk tastes great, unfortunately its higher in calories, carbs, and fat than most of the other proteins I've had. I made good gains when I was on it but Ive found leaner whey that costs less.

Recommended Love this stuff! it is my #1 protien powder! My picture is the 2 month result of staying consistent and dedicated to my workouts and intensities using this product. I gained a total of 20 lbs after three months of lean musclemass and had my body fat prcentage checked by my physician. I'm 6 percent body fat and the rest is all lean mass. I've stayed consistent since. I went from 130 to 150 lbs in three months and am now 160 lbs. You need to have good cardio intensity workouts for at least 30 minutes and about an hour to two hour strngth workout every other day. My only Problem is the price.

Recommended I have only taken about 1/2 of a 5 lb. tub and so far so good. When I mean good I mean I can't wait to take this stuff after my workout, its almost as if its a "reward" because it tastes soooo good. I have the cake batter flavor and think it tastes outstanding!
I know people say MM has slow absorbing proteins and should be taken throughout the day vs. right after a w.o. but it's my only protein so I gotta take it when I can. I believe my workouts have gotten more intense because I know MM is waiting for me when I'm done!
I consider myself an endurance athlete so when I hit the gym I go all out. I mix cardio, strength, and flexibility into most of my workouts.
Whoa it's getting late, time to take my MM!
BTW I only paid about $23.00 for the 5 lb. tub at GNC's discount/discontinued table in front of their register. Noway I was gonna pass up that deal, completely worth it!

Recommended I love this prouct it was the first protein i bought but unfortunitly the guy at GNC convinced me, it wasnt the best protin shake to take because of all the calaries. But ive tried several protein shakes since then incluing Nitro-Tech, but it dosnt come close. My next shake will be something from ON.

Recommended If you diet and use this product like the directions say on the bottle, You will grow and lose weight rapidly if you stay dedicated. My workout consists on combining gaining size and cut at the same time. Combining High Reps and Heavy Weight, with MM, consistently delivers success. Taste is amazing. Prefer mixing with H20, instead of milk for faster absorption. Taken an Hr before/Half Hour after(If working out in morning, take before bed to prepare for morning workout)

Maybe Recommended Tastes great and is a decent price. But most people think this is to be taken post workout..it contains NO Whey Protein!!! it is basically milk and egg protein. Which is not what you want to take right after a workout. IF this product is used as a post workout shake, it sucks. It MUST be used in the middle of the day as a medium digesting protein! This is not a product that is used to replace a Whey Protein. If used in the middle of the day, yes it works and will help you build muscle, but dont waste your money and use it as a post workout shake.

not sure about that, I have one right in front of me and there is no Whey listed on the ingredients at all...but even if some do have Whey concentrate, it still wouldnt be recommended for post workout, you would be much better off with a Whey Isolate, or hydrolized whey, both of these versions make whey concentrate seem like garbage haha

alex, i know they have a product called EvoPro..the ingredients that i posted are the ones from Muscle Milk and not from EvoPro..the mix of protein in Muscle Milk is called EvoPro..check here..

petey,im just saying its not a bad idea to take it pwo but its not the best to use..people on a budget who can only afford to have one protein powder can use Muscle Milk as pwo..

Also, Kamotekid, EvoPro is made by Cytosport, but that doesnt mean that its Muscle Milk. Muscle Milk and EvoPro are two different products made by the same company.

Sorry, as far as I know the RTD that are now available at gas stations and pick n save have no whey in them.. Not sure if the powder does, but still..you would be better off with a whey protein made by Optimum Nutrition!

    Kamotekid,

While it has a decent protein profile, the fact that it has so much fat is the reason that it's a poor choice for post workout.

Recommended I have more exp. with the RTD's. Taste wise there pretty good I mainly used them as a MRP in the morning before baseball.
I would only use this if you burn alot of calories or have a very strict diet. If you dont have a fast metabolism you will put on fat like its your job. lol

Recommended I buy this product when I find it at a good price. The taste is great, the protein profile is awesome, and the fats are good fats. I've never picked up bad weight while using this product. Not good for post workout, but perfect for the morning or a snack. Not the best, but respectable.

Recommended I got chocolate flavored and it tasted really good, when you get chucks its all most like eating brownies, this is not for someone that is trying to cut down, this is or the person trying to bulk up, the fats people are talking about are not the bad fats, do research before saying things

Recommended I first used this back in 2003 and I loved the chocolate milk flavor then. The calorie content was higher and the taste was better. They changed the formula over the past couple of years and I just don't like it anymore. This stuff works well and the fat everyone talks about isn't bad. Read about what TYPE of fats your ingesting. This protein blend isn't meant to be used for those trying to diet or cut. Do some research on the types of proteins available (casein, WPI, gainers, etc.) and select the one that matches your goal.

Maybe Recommended You can usually find a good price on this product however it is loaded with fat! If your goal is to get lean, then this product is not for you. The taste is excellent, but you will pay the price with the amount of calories in it! I used this for about a year and a half before switching to Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey, and was wondering why i was not seeing any results as far as lean muscle mass, after reading the back of the tub, I now know why. If you're looking to gain weight, this product might be good for you!

Recommended A little bit pricey versus other protein powders, but overall I have had a good experience with Muscle Milk.
I am a naturally lean person looking to bulk so I did not mind the extra fat in each serving as it added some extra calories for me. The taste is great, I usually get cookies and cream or strawberry. It definitely helped me get the required amount of protein for my lifting goals.
Only drawback is the price tag, as you don't get many servings for that price compared to other cheaper protein powders.

NOT Recommended i think the taste os great ..like really really good.it wont help u go down in weight imo cuz of all the fat in it,it is more like a meal replacement or a snack.i think the protein they use is more for a morning or before bed time type of thing.the price is just dumb.i think this stuff is more like really good tasteing milk

NOT Recommended Taste horrid. I got the variety 3 pack. the protien amount per serving is low compared to ther top brands. Mixes horribly, its gritty and I let it sit for a good minute or two and its still like drinking sandy water. I noticed very little gain if that, too busy from being wigged out from the taste of the stuff. The cookies and cream is far from any cookies and cream I have had. also its 6gr of fat per scoop, YIKES. I typically do one scoop pre and two scoops post workout, and I'll stick to ON, or GNC AMP Wheybolic 60 over this overly hyped up stuff. Glad it works for you other guys, but this is something I will avoid.

Recommended Anyone who works out, weight trains, strength trains, endurance trains or whatever type training they are doing supplements protein. Why? Because our typical solid food protein intake is not sufficient for the intensity of which are workouts consist of.
Effectiveness - 10 (you will definitely notice a difference when you wake up if taken before bed, I guarentee it)
Value - you can find this protein for ~20$ at various retailers (online or local)
Overall - I give it a 9. Great taste, affordable considering the financial state of most people, and is a valuable protein for anyone who focuses on intensity in their workouts. The only downfall I give is the higher fat content but this is all based on diet in conjuction with how much exercise you put yourself through.

NOT Recommended Good ole Muscle Milk. Very fatty, my friend did an independent study on the product and it showed that there is actually 36 g of fat per serving as opposed to what the label says. I'd stay away and just use straight lard and milk, that is pretty much the same thing as the product.

Very educated response genius. Get your information straight first. The fats in Muscle Milk are poly and monounsaturated fats that contain EFA's.

Recommended This isn't a good protein for post workout, because it contains a lot of slow digesting caseins. However, taste cannot be beat. Chocolate mint chip and root beer float are the real deal. Good price, perfect for a before bed protein to keep you anabolic.
